BAPTISM
We conduct baptisms (christenings) on specific Sundays throughout the year. If you wish your child to be baptised, the parents and Godparents must attend a baptism rehearsal/preparation session beforehand.
Click here to first read our Baptism booklet. In order to help you plan, please download our Baptism Booklet, in which we explain more information about your child's baptism.
There is also an application form which you should complete beforehand.
Please email us at parishofmarypeterpaul@outlook.com as early as possible to ensure availability.
WEDDING
We would be delighted for you to choose St Peter and St. Paul Church for your wedding.
St Peter and St. Paul Church, with its historic ambience, provides an ideal environment for your great occasion. There is limited car parking nearby. The churchyard in front of the entrance provides a great backdrop for photography. Only bio-degradable confetti can be used.
Scheduling
Weddings can be held on a day and at a time (8 am-6 pm) that suits you. However, in reality, it depends on the availability of our priest, who serves the villages of Nutfield and Bletchingley. Most weddings occur on a Saturday, and we can offer a service at 11 am or 2:30 pm, depending on availability. Normally, a wedding service lasts around 60 minutes, and you should allow a further 30-45 minutes for photography.
We suggest planning for your desired date 12-18 months in advance; you must talk to us before you book your reception.
Please email us at parishofmarypeterpaul@outlook.com as early as possible to ensure availability and to discuss fees.
FUNERAL
It is hard to be separated from someone you love. At St. Peter and St. Paul Church, we are privileged to walk alongside those who are suffering the pain of bereavement.
This includes conducting funeral services or memorial services. But there is much more. Before a funeral service, the priest will visit the bereaved family. After the funeral service is over, a member of our Pastoral Team will contact you, to see how you are getting on.
However, if you wish to speak to Father Paul directly, please email Father-Paul.Bletchingley-Nutfield@outlook.com
Once a year, around the beginning of November (All Souls' Day), we hold a special service in Church, remembering those who have died and giving thanks for their lives.
Arranging a funeral
We can offer you a number of services that suit your circumstances:
- A funeral service in the church, and your loved one is taken for a private cremation. This is often a more straightforward arrangement as you can arrange your Wake locally, immediately after the service.- A funeral service is in the church, followed by a burial in a local cemetery;
- A funeral service in the church followed by a short service at the crematorium;
- A funeral service at the crematorium;
